Congratulations on Your Engagement!

Welcome to the most complete and up-to-date resource for getting married in New Orleans. I’m Rev. Donald Bohn. My wife, Samantha and I work hard to provide you with all the tools you need to put together your dream wedding. We offer packages for every budget, from small romantic ceremonies to grand events. While we specialize in outdoor weddings, we also work with many of the hotels and B&B’s to provide a large choice in venues for your ceremony. We also specialize in festival weddings, (why not get married at your favorite event?) and unusual venues. We recently performed a wedding in the swamp in the Barataria Preserve, and have done some interesting Halloween weddings. We are also familiar with inter-faith ceremonies.

About our website:
Please take the time to thoroughly explore our website. The “Wedding Planning Resources” page is especially helpful for links that can help you customize your event. We have everything from a statewide list of Marriage Clerk’s, if you’re coming in from Texas, you can get yours in Lafayette, to articles about how to write your own ceremony.

Samantha is an excellent photographer, that’s all her work on the website, and with approximately 1000 weddings under her belt, she has the experience to capture your special day with images you’ll cherish forever.

We’ve done weddings for people from all over the world. As long as you are not a Louisiana resident, and the ceremony takes place in Orleans Parish, I can waive the typical 72 hour waiting period.

Should you have a question you can’t find the answer to here, we’d be more than happy to answer it in person. You can reach us at info@RomanceinNewOrleans.com or by phone at 504-343-0574.

So come on down to The Big Easy, pass a good time, and eat, drink, and be married!

For Destination and Local Weddings!

A SPECIAL NOTE: New Orleans Needs You!

Before Katrina, New Orleans was second only to Las Vegas for American destination weddings. With your help, it can return to it’s former glory. New Orleans still boasts world-class restaurants, hotels, museums, theater, and the most unique and exciting music scene you’ll ever find.

The French Quarter escaped largely intact. The Canal Street and St. Charles Streetcar lines are up and running. The Audubon Zoo and the Aquarium of the Americas are also open. We have had several successful and memorable Jazz Fests post Katirna, and I personally have performed weddings there!

We are still rebuilding, and things will never be the same. We’re determined to make them better.

Before the storm, you could go to City Hall Monday through Saturday, get your marriage license, and be married the same day. Unfortunately Saturday is no longer an option. The office at City Hall is closed indefinitely, but you can take a short ferry ride across the Mississippi River to the Algiers Courthouse and get one there. The ferry is free to pedestrians, the courthouse is right next to the ferry landing, and there are some great local restaurants and bars for lunch. There is also a new marriage license office at 1010 Common Street in the CBD that is a testament that things are better than before!

As long as you get an Orleans Parish license, the ceremony takes place in New Orleans, and one of you are a non-resident, the officiate can waive the 72 hour waiting period.

New Orleans still offers many beautiful and unique venues for your wedding. From grand ballrooms to romantic courtyards, our hotels and B&B’s have a wide variety for you to choose from. For outdoor weddings, Audubon Park is in great shape, and City Park has made a remarkable recovery.

By having your wedding in “The Crescent City” you’ll be part of the re-birth of one of the world’s most romantic places. There’s always a festival, a concert, a play or a gallery opening. You’ll never want for something to do, or you can relax and do nothing at all.

So come be a part of history. New Orleans needs you now, more than ever.

Rev. Donald Bohn

Parrot Heads
Jimmy Buffett Day
JazzFest 2006

We cannot thank you and Samantha enough for truly the most memorable day of our lives. The wedding was perfectly suited for us. The weather held out and family, friends and Jazz Fest buddies were there. We couldn't have found a more ideal person to perform our ceremony which exactly represented who we are. It really was a unique experience.

Samantha's pictures were precisely want we wanted, not the normal staged photographs, but definitely a true representation of the event.

We can never thank you enough.

Hi Rev. Don,

We are enjoying the photos so much. Family and friends are requesting their favorites!

Warm regards!
